Held on July 20, 2024, at the Moot Court Complex, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, the championship showcased the increasing importance of business rescue and insolvency law in Nigeria. The event was generously sponsored by Alhaji Shehu Wada, SAN, a distinguished legal luminary and Managing Partner of Shehu Wada SAN & Co (Legal Practitioners), Abuja. The Competition
Four prestigious universities participated in this groundbreaking event:
- Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
- Bayero University, Kano
- Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto
- Umaru Musa Yar’adua University
Following two rigorous virtual phases, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Bayero University, Kano, advanced to the finals. The final session, a six-hour intense legal battle, was judged by an esteemed panel of senior lawyers who lauded the participants’ depth of knowledge and exceptional advocacy skills.

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, emerged as the overall champion, with Bayero University, Kano, as the first runner-up. Individual awards were also presented, including:
- Best Advocate: F.C. EBERE (Ahmadu Bello University)
- Best Oralist: Hilal (Bayero University)
- Most Decorous Counsel: Maryam Wali (Bayero University)
- Best Dressed: Khadija Muazu (Ahmadu Bello University)
